Week 41: Cold Weather, Faith and Prayers

Week 41

October 29, 2018

This week was alright finding wise, just not a lot of lessons. Many of our appointments were no shows or changed to another time next week.  I am praying that next week will go well and my goal is to find 3 new people so if you could pray for that! It would be great!

I would say one of the highlights from this week was teaching one of our friends T! He is from Thailand and he is so cool. First off the way we found him was he texted us. A friend of his that we had found and texted and then told him about us and he was interested because he wanted to improve his English.  We met and taught him and he liked it all but was still just wanting to learn. We then taught him again the restoration and he fell in love with it and he accepted a date for Nov. 17th.  We are excited.  He has already been to church once so that is great as well.  The best part of the day was his prayer. It literally was so simple yet so powerful! Everyone could totally feel the spirit.

Another highlight of the week was last night at a dinner appointment at Gary Sullivan’s house.  Gary is one of the counselors to the bishop. One thing that is hard is we really want to work with members but they all live out very far from us and it would take like an hour and a half to get out to some of their homes. Also the bus passes don’t work going where they live so it makes it very hard.  Brother Sullivan said he would pick us up and take us home to help us. He is awesome.  He has had his calling for only a little bit. He was so great and the food they made was awesome and you would be proud of me. I ate mashed potatoes!!!  GROSS I know!!!! hahah but so they had their granddaughter there and she was way shy but you know me.  Kids love me so she ended up loving me by the end.  Heyyyyyy  guess what!!!!!

SO, after 20 years and 10 months I, MIKEY O'CONNOR have learned how to WHISTLE!!!!!!!!! And their 4 year old granddaughter taught me!!!!!! I am happy!!!!!!!!
I am doing good and I am excited to get into the new week and excited about growing closer to God each and every day. Remember to keep growing as well and make sure everyone really does make time for Christ and our Heavenly Father in their day. Make time and know that I Love you all so much and hope all is well with everyone.

Love,
Elder O’Connor
