Week 40 Bridge of Don Ward, Overcoming my Kings & Answered Questions
October 22, 2018
Hello,
First off, I am happy that you could
go to Sister Calls Homecoming and see all of the mission brothers!! I love and
miss them all like crazy! Before I forget, we spend most of our time street
contacting on Union Street, so you can google it and see.
I am ready for your questions!!!
1.
What spiritual experience or lesson have you learned this
week? Well I finished the Book of Mormon
again!! And honestly it is so cool and soo true!! The more you read it the more
you feel part of it!! It’s crazy how you can just connect with the prophets of
old and learn from them and feel the same things that they are feeling. And so
I loved reading it and am already excited to read it again. It was so nice to read it and to pray
about it and have that confirmation of the spirit that it is true!!! Reading
the Book of Mormon makes me happy. Also our Northern Scotland Conference and Cluster Meeting were very good!!!!
2.
Tell me something that has helped strengthen your testimony? I would say everyday
my testimony has grown even if it was just a little bit, it has!! Like with
each time I read or each time we talk about gospel related topics it grows!
Anytime people get mad at us on the street my testimony just grows.
3.
What was your Sacred Grove moment of the week? Well I instructed at the conference on sacred grove moments
so that is one that I really enjoy talking about, but I also finished the Book
of Mormon again!!! It’s true!!!!!!! I actually love reading the Book of Mormon
so much that it’s unreal.
4.
What did you do this week to bring joy to someone else? I helped my companion with something that he has been
working on for a long time!!!
5.
Who are you teaching this week? A girl named Kimberley! I found her my first night here and
she is so good! But says she is to busy to meet for right now so I am praying
she changes her mind! We are now teaching a guy named T that is alright but
just is wanting to meet to help with his English. Even with just wanting to learn English he is
still doing all that we ask so that is really good, hopefully he can progress
more!!!!
6.
Pictures of the week?
I will be sending it soon!!!
To be honest this is such a good
ward. Like so good! There are some people who are really awesome. First the
Dressels! They are an older couple who joined the church when they were
young!!! He has been a bishop a ton of times and he also has been a Stake
President too. He and his wife love the missionaries and they feed us every
week!! Also his wife’s mother joined the church 4 years ago and she takes us
out every other week too. Then there is Sister Mead! She is a sweet lady she is
very quiet but takes us out every week. There is also Gramme Milne, she loves
us. We go to her house weekly. I will get pictures from
them and send it to you next week!!!
This week was actually super hard
for me. We had a zone cluster meeting that President Macdonald was there for
and I had to give an instruction. I was supposed to have 25 minutes but people
took way tooo long so I only had 10 minutes. Everyone said I did great, so that
made me happy!!! The conference was really good!! I made some good
comments throughout and also had to do a role play in front of everyone. What
President Macdonald talked about in his instruction really hit me hard. He
talked about Kings, and how in the scriptures people turn away from God and
cleave to the Kings. He talked about Kings that we hold on to. So it was really
cool to see the things that I hold as Kings and so now I am trying to get rid
of the Kings that I have which I feel have grown greater just recently.
Please just pray for me this week to
overcome the Kings that I have and that will help a lot!!!!!
Just know I am praying for you. I
love you and pray you have a great week.
Love,
Elder O’Connor
