Goodbyes to the Donaldsons, Skype with Elder Bednar and Glendalough
June 18, 2018
Hey momma,
I love you so much!!!!!
This week we had lots of finding,
which was great. The only bad thing was that we had lots of people who would no
show to lessons so it made it kind of a bummer but it will be good. I got to
see Elder Valiati for the All Ireland Conference and it was amazing. He is
doing a really good job in Cork.
The All-Ireland Conference was the
best part of this week. It was of course our last one with President and Sister
Donaldson! So in it we had lots of workshops getting us ready for the new Mission
President. At the end of the conference we had the privilege to hear from Elder
David A Bednar ! He Skyped in to us for over an hour and had a Q/A with us. It
was so great being able to hear from a member of the Twelve Apostles, and
honestly he was just so real, such a nice man that really is called of God. He
talked a lot about the Spirit and us using it in the mission and in our own
personal lives. He of course used his famous line, “Be a good boys and good
girls” which was just so awesome. It was such a spiritual day and so amazing!
At the end of the evening we were
able to say our goodbyes to President and Sister Donaldson! It was sad to say
goodbye but I was able to give them hugs and say thank you for all they had
done for me and for fighting for me to come back to serve in the
Scotland/Ireland Mission. President told me that I was worth fighting for. I am
so thankful to them and all they have done for me. I am eternally grateful for
them and the Lord’s plan for me.
Here are the answers your questions:
1. How has your week gone? Our week was alright! We had All-Ireland Conference
which is always amazing.
2. How are your investigators doing?
At the start of the week we met with one
and he told us that something was holding him back. He asked us if we believe
in the Holy Trinity. So we tried to explain but then he tried to prove us wrong
and then I went through the God head chain which is a lot of scriptures that
prove the God head and I shared them with him and asked him about them and he
agreed with them but then just got frustrated and said he needed time to think.
We will pray for him and hope he finds the answers he is seeking. Our other
friend was supposed to be baptized this week but some things came up so we
moved it back to this week. He is doing amazing though I am looking forward to
Saturday!
3. Where did you go for Pday last week and what and you going to do today?
We went to a place called Glendalough and it is about an hour away. (Glendalough is a glacial valley in Count
Wicklow, Ireland, renowned for an Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in
the 6th century by St. Kevin.) It is pretty cool. Today for Pday I went shopping and I bought
an Ireland jersey and some other things I needed.
Well that was my week and I hope you
have a good one.
Love you,
Elder O’Connor
