Elder Michael O'Connor II - Scotland/Ireland Mission

April 23, 2018 Hello MOMMA!!!   We are going to Howth (an Irish village on the Howth Peninsula) today so I don’t have too much time to email but my knee is doing really good! I feel no pain! I have been trying to work out more to get it stronger and it feels very good!  Oh the new missionaries are so sick! (Sick=Awesome in Mikey’s language) Elder Kiem is really tall and pretty cool. He played at Alta and is going to BYU to play football! He actually half trained Elder Valiati so its really cool! Elder Carter is so sick! He is from Mapleton and is very close to Valiati! They are both so cool and were Zone Leader's for a long time and now are in their last 2 transfers so they got released and are now training. Super cool guys!!!  This next week we could have another baptism but it’s still up in the air!! So please pray for our buds Jordan and Eduardo! April 16, 2018 Hello all, It is crazy how the time is finally starting to fly bye!!! I sort of love it! OK so let’s get down to business!!! I am going............to...............STAY HERE!!! With.......... ELDER VALIATI!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited! I was stressing all week thinking that I was going to be leaving but thankfully I get to stay another transfer with Elder Valiati!!! It is such a blessing. We are doing some amazing things and I finally think I am getting the hang of things. This transfer is 7 weeks so it will be good! Alright well the highlight of the week was first that we baptized our friend Bento! He is so awesome and was pretty “Golden” and speaks really good English!! And so to be honest I think we taught him everything and he was found and baptized in 15 days! Just a super humble guy that was so willing to  come unto Christ! April 9, 2018 Hello all, The Dublin Zoo was pretty cool. We went there for our P Day. It was raining a ton here as well.   Elder Valiati and I talk about how you and his mom talk during the week. It’s pretty funny!   Elder Valiati has helped me so much and I just love him. Transfer calls are at the end of the week. I guess that I stay here!  That is so cool about dad and the Potts! It is a dream come true and as I look at the people I teach and have baptized I hope that can happen for me too. Dad was such a good missionary and I hope I can be as good as he was!   (Mom’s note: Mike had the opportunity to baptize two people at the end of his mission, Bob and Cindy Potts on 1/1/1983 in the Chicago, Illinois Mission. We were able to reconnect with them 7 or 8 years ago. They still live in Illinois and have 3 beautiful daughters living in Colorado, Germany and Utah. Hello!!  Ok this week was pretty awesome. We first off had an awesome day at the Dublin ZOO for PDay!!! It was so fun and really helped us to get ready for the week. Tuesday we had ALL-IRELAND Conference! It was so legit and I loved every second of it. It’s so cool to have that opportunity each transfer to hear from President and Sister Donaldson, and to better our skills as missionaries. Throughout the week we had other meetings which were great but that sort of limited our time to find new people but it’s all good!!! Yes, we had a baptism for Ramon and Amanda! They are both so amazing! I was actually able to find Ramon, and so it is pretty special being able to watch someone from the very start to his baptism! Even though I couldn't communicate a whole lot with them I still am so proud and love them so much!!! We had 14 people come to church this week which is soooo cool!
